While "whatever works for you" is the correct attitude, some systems actually ARE better than others, e.g. some system may work better for you than others. You need to learn other systems so you can then incorporate the elements that work for you into your playing.

Great player and great guitar. I remember going to CBS Arbiter clinic, the demonstrator played a telecaster through a twin reverb, made it sound like a beautiful jazzed. I remember in the eighties trying a 60's tele, it had a wonderful neck, almost felt soft to touch.

I saw Brett for the first time about 18 months ago at the Macedon Railway Hotel for a blues night with various artists . We were front row and Brett came on with a black Gibson SG playing slide. Rory Gallagher stuff I believe. WOW, WOW, WOW he was FN awesome. Actually got some video of him playing that angle style and it’s fantastic.

Thanks for the wonderful interview. Brett was my main instructor when I attended the GIT in the 80s, and I learned so much from him. Not only that, I was so blown away by both his musicality and his personality... such a wonderful human being, a great teacher, an awesome guy. So much fun to listen to this interview.

If possible I'd be interested to learn if Louie Shelton had ever made the personal acquaintance of Roger C. Field? Who for decades had been inside the Chet Atkins orbit and invented the FOLDAXE folding guitar Chet was so familiar with. Thanks, from Munich. While designing passenger seats for the Airbus in 1975, Field had the idea for a folding electric guitar which he named "Foldaxe," for being transported as hand luggage under an aircraft seat. Guitarist Chet Atkins inspired Field in 1975 to design a folding guitar without the string tension changing and going out of tune. Field solved this problem by designing a unique mechanism hidden in the guitar which, once the guitar has been tuned, keeps the string tension constant when folding and unfolding it so that it is always ready to play when unfolded. Atkins appeared with Les Paul on television with the Foldaxe on Jane Pauley's The Today Show and on Entertainment This Week.[6] Field himself appeared several times on television shows with the Foldaxe, unfolding it and then playing it amplified."

Great playing Louie but plenty of amps sound good not just your model, small Marshall's big Marshall's, they're all good but the sound comes from the player
